Hello, I'm David
I believe therapy should be a place of genuine collaboration - a safe space where you can make sense of your experiences and move towards meaningful change. My work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, drawing on Solution-Focused and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and I am trained in EMDR.
My experience spans community mental health, school counselling and private practice - a background that gave me a deep appreciation for how early experiences shape us, and for care that is holistic and accessible. Jargon aside, my goal is simple: to empower you, build resilience and self-awareness, and help you get to positive, lasting change.

How I can support you.
I offer straightforward, down-to-earth therapy for adults. Sessions are flexible - come in person at Darlington on Mondays, or connect online through the week. Every conversation is private, and every approach is shaped to fit what's actually going on in your life.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you can claim a Medicare rebate of around $149 per session.

Anything else, ask in your enquiry or on the free call.
Do I need a referral to see David?
No. You can book directly. A GP referral with a Mental Health Care Plan is only needed if you want to claim the Medicare rebate.
How do Medicare rebates work?
With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Medicare rebates around $149 per session, for up to 10 sessions a calendar year. David's practice processes the claim for you on the day.
In person or telehealth - which should I choose?
David sees clients in person at Darlington on Mondays, and by telehealth across the rest of the week. Both work well; many clients mix the two.
What happens in the first session?
It's a conversation, not an interrogation. David listens to what's going on, asks a few questions, and by the end you'll have a shared sense of what you're working on and how.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Sessions are private and confidential, with the standard legal exceptions around safety, which David explains up front.
